I promise I'll be better at blogging. I really mean it. It's just that . . . well, I have no excuses, really. But, I do have a sweet wedding to share with you!
I wasn't originally going to photograph this wedding, but I'm glad I did. Another friend I do weddings with was going to cover this one, and he would have done a great job, but ended up being on call for his real job and so I got to take it. I've known the bride, Sharon, from church for years, but it was the first time to meet the groom, Alan. We actually didn't even get to chat before the wedding started, and while that's not normally how I like to photograph weddings, but I think it worked out well in the end :)
Their wedding was small and intimate, and they were surrounded by their closest friends and family as they said their "I do's." After the ceremony and before the dinner, Sharon went around the room and shared how the couple knew everyone in the room and what each person meant to them, both in their lives before they were a couple and since. Isn't that just sweet! The other very impressive thing is that she remembered everyone's names! Sometimes in the heat of the moment my memory fails me, so I was very impressed :) Alan works a lot at a farm, so they incorporated that into the decor as well, which left me with some creative opportunities for the rings shot!
